After obtaining a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2001, Dr. Kara E.A. Marciani was licensed as a psychologist in the state of Ohio in 2003.  In 2009, Dr. Marciani was certified as a Diplomate (specialist in Forensic Psychology) by the American Board of Professional Psychology / American Board of Forensic Psychology.  

Dr. Marciani presently is the Director of Forensic Services at the Forensic Psychiatry Center for Western Ohio, a division of Eastway Behavioral Healthcare (Eastway), located in Dayton, Ohio.  Dr. Marciani also serves as the Forensic Monitor for fourteen counties in the greater Miami Valley.   In addition to her employment at Eastway, Dr. Marciani acts as the President and Chief Psychologist for Marciani Psychological Services, Inc. (MPS, Inc.). 

MPS, Inc. provides private professional psychological services to individuals, estates, firms and organizations on a contract basis.  MPS, Inc. clients include Forensic and Mental Health Services, Inc., in Hamilton, Ohio; Netcare Forensic Center in Columbus, Ohio; the Montgomery County Probate Court in Dayton, Ohio; and the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services in Dayton, Ohio.   

Dr. Marciani also has been retained by private clients and law firms to provide professional evaluation and testimony in legal proceedings throughout Ohio.  Dr. Marciani has presented and conducted workshops on the subject of interview and communication techniques, mitigation proceedings, treatment planning, and the assessment of psychiatric illness to the Ohio Probate Court Investigators, the Association of Ohio Forensic Psychiatric Center Directors, the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Board of Montgomery County, the Tri-County Mental Health Board, and the Mental Health Board of Clark, Greene, and Madison Counties.
